Respect in Sport - Parents

Respect in Sport logo

Ringette Ontario requires that one parent/guardian of every ringette player under the age of 18 complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program before their child can participate in ringette programming.

The Respect in Sport Parent Program is a one-hour online course that reinforces the important role parents play in their child’s activities. It promotes positive sports behaviours, encourages effective communication, and provides insight into the roles of coaches, officials, and volunteers.

Why It Matters

This program empowers parents to:

  • Help ensure the safety and well-being of their children.

  • Encourage positive and respectful communication.

  • Support an enjoyable and rewarding ringette experience for all.

Important Information

  • Cost: $12 (the certification is transferable across other sports that require Respect in Sport).

  • It is strongly recommended that you complete the program before registering for the ringette season, so you can include your certification number directly in the RAMP registration system.

  • Our Registrar will contact any parents without a certificate number. If a certificate is not provided by the deadline, the player will not be permitted to participate in GSRA events until the requirement is met.
